Introvert, Ambivert or Extravert? Dive Into Self Discovery!

Introvert. Ambivert. Extravert. Which are you? If you’re an avid GG reader you may already know that I’m a former frightened introvert, now a proud ambivert. Ain’t nothing wrong with that!

If you’re not sure where you fall on the introvert/ambivert/extravert spectrum I highly suggest you take ten minutes to take the 16 Personalities Test. This is the exact quiz I use with new life coaching clients. It’s a great way to start the self discovery process and covers much more than introvert/extravert personality traits.

Participating in exercises that help you know yourself better. Learning about your tendencies will help you move forward with your personal development journey. Plus, aren’t personality tests fun?!

What makes 16 Personalities so great is that it gauges personal and professional scenarios. From career suggestions, blurbs from real life people in these roles to best practices for relationships and parenting this quiz has it all. But the most fun part to me is the list of examples of other people in your personality category. Real and fictional.

For example, I’m a ‘Campaigner’ (ENFP-A/-T). My role is diplomat and my strategy is people mastery. I can study and empathize with others, understanding and helping others comes naturally. So being a life coach and personal trainer is right up my alley.

Real life campaigners include comedian Robin Williams and director Quentin Tarantino. Fictional campaigners include Phil Dunphy (goofy dad on Modern Family) and Michael Scott (lovable boss on The Office). A couple of my favorite TV characters, I’m blushing to be in their company!

introvert ambivert extrovertEven though I’m an ‘E’ (extravert) according to this quiz, each section is gauged in percentages. So I think it’s fair game to claim that anyone who falls in the 40-60% range is really an ambivert. An ambivert can take on the tendencies of both an introvert and extrovert. A true chameleon!

I would love to know what your results of the test are, comment below with your result and favorite thing you learned about yourself.

PS-If you are an introvert or an ambivert I would love your feedback in an official capacity! I’m hosting an introvert specific workshop in August and want to know your successes and fears as a fabulous introvert, please fill out this short questionnaire.

  1. OK I’m back now that i’ve spend over 30 minutes reading about myself and taking that survey! It says I’m a Protagonist and I can agree on a lot of the things. It’s crazy.

  2. I am ENFJ but I do fall on that line of barley being an E. I would defiantly say I’m more Ambi when I think of myself and how I socialize! I love the 16 Personalitles quiz, I always get Protagonist, it never fails!

  3. I’m an ambivert. I’m pretty outgoing but when I’m done I’m done and ready for a quiet spot away from everyone. Knowing and acknowledging this takes stress our of public events and parties.

  4. I’m a Mediator (INFP-T). “Mediators have a talent for self-expression…” Boy, do I!! This test was pretty spot on! I always love learning about myself, and having those “ah ha… I get it now..” moments.

  5. I love taking these kinds of tests. Apparently I am a Meditator (INFP-T). That seems to be a theme on here. 🙂 I’m also about to take your Introvert Workshop Questionnaire. Sounds like something that might be up my alley.
